I first saw Cube when I was a kid during our ritual Sunday morning sci-fi movie screening with my family while breakfast was cooking and all the windows were open letting the scent of “outside” in (my fave), but I was transfixed on the tv. A psychological thriller/horror about a group of strangers trapped in an endless maze-like structure, where each room presents its own set of challenges they must work together in order to escape. Each person has a unique set of skills designed to help the collective, but tensions run high and survival makes people do crazy things. For those who love sci-fi (especially 90’s), mystery, and a bit of Kafka. One of a handful sci-fi movies I revisit decades after.
